In line with Qatar’s 2030 Vision

As the world experiences explosive population growth, international urbanization and increasing threats from global climate change, our finite and depleting resources offer serious international challenges. The global economy is in the process of gradually shifting away from heavy carbon economies to knowledge-based economies reliant on new technologies. This requires nations to commit to reducing their carbon footprint, deploy scientific research, development, innovation and education, and promote a more sophisticated approach to technology transfer.

His Highness Sheikh Tamim bin Hamad Al Thani, the Emir of Qatar, the architect of the State of Qatar’s 2030 Vision, is leveraging Qatar’s early leadership in effective and sophisticated environmental institutions that encourage the use of environmentally sound technologies.

Consequently, it has a key role to play in a world where energy consumption is an important driver in ensuring long-term sustainability. In line with Qatar’s 2030 Vision, we are making tangible and determined steps towards deploying new and renewable energy and establishing Qatar as a technology development and research hub in these new energy industries. It is our pledge to establish Qatar as a global leader in the transition from fossil fuels to renewable energy.

We are fully confident that we will realise our vision through our intellectual and technical capabilities, and our progressive partnerships in this vital endeavor for humanity.
